SOUND TESTING / NOISE MITIGATION
Sound quality and noise mitigation is a significant factor in the built environment. Our goal is to optimize the acoustical design according to building science, aesthetics and cost. Our designs optimize sound quality in a manner consistent with each project’s functional design and budgetary requirements. By utilizing a proactive, collaborative design approach we are able to address the acoustical effect of all of the building systems on the built environment, and develop recommendations and performance criteria with the design team and project consultants. Our recommendations are provided early in the design phases and we remain involved through Construction Administration to verify that our recommended assembly details are executed properly in the field….
ENVIRONMENTAL / INDUSTRIAL NOISE & VIBRATION CONTROL
As an acoustics firm, ABC Acoustics, Inc. is further differentiated by our environmental noise capabilities. This includes measurements and analysis for regulatory compliance, noise impact consultation for utilities, industrial, and commercial development. Our role has ranged from recommendations specific to OSHA in the workplace to community noise analysis for EIRs. Our longevity in the environmental noise field provides us with a broad array of comparative data as well as extensive public outreach experience, often with sensitive community projects.
EQUIPMENT VIBRATION ANALYSIS
Equipment vibration analysis can be used to determine Vibration Fatigue. Collecting and analyzing vibration data can be used over time to determine the cause of a failure or to predict when failure may occur. Equipment vibration analysis can be used in development of products or improve existing products. ABC Acoustics, Inc. provides onsite or in-lab Equipment Vibration Analysis Services throughout the world.
OCCUPATIONAL NOISE ASSESSMENTS AND NOISE MANAGEMENT
In many industries the noise levels within the workplace are high. Every year, approximately 30 million people in the United States are occupationally exposed to hazardous noise. Noise-related hearing loss has been listed as one of the most prevalent occupational health concerns in the United States for more than 25 years. Exposure to high levels of noise can cause permanent hearing loss. Short term exposure to loud noise can also cause a temporary change in hearing (your ears may feel stuffed up) or a ringing in your ears (tinnitus). These short-term problems may go away within a few minutes or hours after leaving the noisy area. However, repeated exposures to loud noise can lead to permanent tinnitus and/or hearing loss.
